Kassie Kay: You file with both states (as well as the federal government). You do not pay taxes to both for the same income, but the computation is fairly complicated. You pay taxes to PA on the income from work in PA. You pay taxes to NJ equal to the NJ tax on all your income (from both states) minus either (a) the NJ tax on the income also taxed by PA, or (b) the PA tax on the income also taxed by NJ, whichever is less.
