how to decorate my new apartment?

Cody Petrulis: Everyone has different tastes, so I can't tell you how to decorate your apartment. I CAN tell you to buy things that you love, not things you think are "in style" but don't really appeal to you. My home is traditional but I have enough unique pieces that it doesn't look boring. You want your apartment to be a reflection of YOU, not a reflection of what's in a magazine or a furniture store. I made that mistake in my first place and it never felt homey or like me! Look at pics in magazines and see what colors and styles appeal to you, make you feel happy or relaxed and then slowly buy pieces you love. Be sure that everything isn't matchy-matchy; don't be afraid to mix antiques (or thrift store finds!) with contemporary pieces. Also, mixing patterns adds interest...a stripe and floral with the same color scheme. Inell Riesgo: a 1 bedroom colonial style

Lashawn Zabarkes: I'm thinking a little vintage but with modern touches. Keep the tones simple and classic with whites, greys etc then have pops of color with burnt orange, yellow and maybe teal. Maybe some textured pillows or rugs.
