Brian Freedland: A hybrid car runs off of two power systems, most commonly gas electric. Is it better though? It really depends on what youre looking for. Gas efficiency wise of course a Prius is better than many cars but if you're trading in your SUV even a regular non hybrid altima, camry, or civic gets much better mileage. Lolita Deschamp: katie was right and wrong , hybrids are electric and gas....but when you take into consideration the making of the lead plate batteries , and the disposal when they go bad , they are actually worse on the environment
