Quotation marks question?

Kelly Bistodeau: Seriously? Quotations go around something that has been said. For instance:Jim asked, "May I go to the store?" and mom answered, "Not right now." Hope this helps!

Benita Nancy: you employ single costs (like apostrophes) once you employ a quote interior a quote. yet i'm thinking, are you speaking a pair of triple quote? Did you mean to have citation marks earlier "i don't have self belief you"? (I positioned the question mark exterior the citation mark there because of the fact this is not portion of the quote, btw.) that would desire to be exciting; i might could look that up. in any different case, it would be i don't have self belief you once you're saying "John dropped the 'ball.'"...Show more

Andrew Sinatra: yeah its pretty much correct.except when you start with a new person it starts a new paragraph, so it would be--"Is this a correct sentence?" "No," said bob

Elva Batie: you put what the person said in quotation marks at the start! and end of the quotation "Is this a correct sentence?" "No" said Bob.

Carolynn Testani: quotations are used for several different things. i belive your asking about when a person is speaking. quotations are used at the beginning and end of when a specific person is speaking... so the sentice would be "Is this a correct sentence?" you aked. "No," said bob. if it is a question, you put the question mark inside the quotes. if it is a statement, you replace the period with a comma.be sure that anytime you show quotes from different people that you always start a new paragraph when you start a different person. ...Show more

Pasquale Pollet: whoops forgot the end quote afrer bob. should be "no"

Arlene Maycumber: "No," said bob.

Bibi Tyron: yeah i know you must have an end quote i typoed
